In my first year second semester in college, I took an Asian American studies class called Social Documentation for my general education requirements. The class taught me how often media neglects minority representation and how documenting minority narratives can be big step toward social activism. For the final project, everyone in the class needed to produce a short documentary that delivers a narrative we wanted to share. This is the documentary I made for the final project about the experiences my peers had while identifying themselves as being mixed race. Interviewing and editing the piece was an invaluable learning experience. Hope you enjoy the piece. – Alex Suhjin Lee, PO ’17
