API Equality – LA recently launched Q&A Space, a story-sharing site where visitors can read about coming out experiences from Asian Pacific Islanders, their parents, and their allies, as well as submit their own stories to be published and shared. Under their Resources tab: coming out advice, an abbreviated version of the topics covered in API Equality – LA’s Coming Out for Asian Pacific Islander youth workshops; resources for parents wanting to learn more about queerness and their sons/daughters/children; and organizations/books/films/websites that work with similar or related topics.
I certainly wish I had known about (or even thought about searching for) resources like this when I had to come out to my parents and friends. The site is still young, but go check it out and consider adding your own story!
