On Thursday, 29 November, the South Asian Committee partnered with Ekta to host South Asia Speaks: Let’s Talk About Sex, a student panel moderated by Sumi Pendakur. The event was a huge success, with a turnout of over 50 people from across the 5C’s.
The panelists, Shantanu Garg (CM ’14), Roshni Kakaiya (SC ’13), Salman Akhtar (PO ’14), and Shiyana Gunasekara (PZ ’14), first answered questions proposed by Sumi, the Associate Dean for Institutional Diversity at HMC, and then the audience began to participate in discussion as well. Everyone enjoyed and benefited from the productive dialogue about sensitive issues, as well as the delicious Indian dinner served.
