On October 29, 2012, a Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) Training Session was held in the SCC from 5pm to 7pm to train volunteers in reviewing DACA applications. This event was held mainly in preparation for the November 10th DACA Application Review Workshop that will be open to the public. Immigration Lawyers from APALC ran the workshop by first explaining what DACA is, the guidelines and requirements on the application, and then went into detail on how to review applications. The event was well attended with 68 people, and there is already a list of over 20 people who wish to attend another workshop in the near future!
Sponsored by the AARC, IDEAS @ the Claremont Colleges, the Draper Center for Community Partnerships, and Pomona College Dean of Students Office.
