In commemoration of Mental Illness Awareness Week (October 2nd – 8th), the Ability committee put on an advertising campaign to raise awareness of the prevalence of mental illness on college campuses. As part of the campaign, mirrors are up around campus with an accompanying flyer stating “This is what a person with mental illness looks like.” The message of the campaign is that anybody can have a mental illness, and it is an invisible problem that is still present within our community.
