So, transform yourself first…Because you are young and have dreams and want to do something meaningful, that in itself, makes you our future and our hope. Keep expanding your horizon, decolonize your mind, and cross borders.

We're back with the intern highlights and this week it's another graduating senior, Alfred! _______________________________________ Hi everyone! My name is Alfred and I'm a senior at Pomona studying Media Studies, and Head Mentor for the Asian American Mentor Program. I was born and raised in Seattle, WA with my two younger sisters. I'm obsessed with streetwear and sneakers, so please come talk to me about the culture. I play the bassoon in orchestra, like playing CSGO, and always end up watching a LOT of Netflix (mostly The Office on repeat...) Come thru the AARC on Monday afternoons if you want to reach me or just chill!
some super cute pics from Saturday’s STEP dance with AARC Intern Lam! 🐣💃🏾🕺🏽
Happy Monday! Start off your week by getting to know a senior AARC intern! _____________________________________ Hi :D My name is Zichen, but I go by ZOMB34N or B34N when I am playing video games.  I love video games and used to compete in Super Smash Bros. Melee tournaments every week, but thesis has taken over my life this year.  I am a chemistry major but am so clumsy that I only do cheminformatics now. Because I am from the Bay Area, I love boba, and I taught myself how to ride my scooter with one hand so I could take boba around with me on speedy journeys.  My favorite topics to talk about are women in gaming, birth control, the role of biomedicine in society, AAPI mental health, and baby animals :)
Graduating Senior Bio! 😭🎓 "Hi! I'm Sagarika! I'm a senior at Pomona majoring in Gender & Women's Studies. At the AARC, I'm a part of the Committee for South Asian Voices & STEP. Some fun facts (or maybe just facts?): I was born in Vadodara, India, I have a deep love for penguins, I have recently gotten VERY into scifi, annd my fave bollywood movie is Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (don't hate me). Also! I took a sem off during my junior fall and it was hands down one of the best decisions I've made at this school! Hmu if you're thinking about it!! Mental and emotional health is soso important!!! You are important! Anyways, my office hours are on Monday from 2:30 to 4. Stop by and say hi ❤ “
This weekend at STEP was Community Day with Veiongo Soakai! With the help of her daughter Lolofi Soakai, Veiongo showed the STEP fam the process of making a ngatu, a tapa cloth that is significant to many aspects of Tongan culture. #step #saturdaytonganeducationprogram
